C.A.R.E. (Central Alexandria Revitalization Effort) Day was a group formed by Chet Long, Don McClead and Dr. David Steele (sorry if I missed anyone) several years ago. They got things started meeting in Dr. & Mrs Steele's dining room. This was, well lets just say a more grand event early on. As you know many groups in our community are putting forth great time and effort to impact change in our community (the baseball/softball leagues are a recent and great example-if you have not been by the fields drive by and see the outstanding effort that is being made), but it is going to take a united effort to really make our community stand out. I know that everyone is busy with ball games, graduation, work, etc., but lets show Madison County, the state of Indiana and this great Nation what "Small-town U.S.A." is all about! Let it start with this event, come together as a community and honor the civic dedication of these men.

If you are not involved in a "group" then join one or organize a group from church, work or ball team. Feel free to show your "team colors", by wearing work shirts, team uniforms, etc. If you don't already have something, you can order shirts from Rachel Robinson or Nancy Cook @ RAM Graphics, 724-7783 (mention the Chamber and get special pricing that will also help the Chamber),
